Sioux Falls Fire Rescue crews had to use saws to get under the hood of a car that caught fire early Thursday morning. The fire happened around midnight in an apartment complex on south Cliff Avenue near 30th street. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue crews say the owner of the car made a very smart decision. They say the owner noticed the car was smoking when he was pulling into his garage but instead of leaving it in there, he backed it up into the middle of the parking lot. Soon after the car was fully engulfed in flames. Some neighbors actually called 911 thinking the small explosions they heard were gunshots. Crews were able to get on the scene and put the fire out. No one was hurt.
