Two men are in jail after stealing a car and leading police on a chase through Sioux Falls.
Sioux Falls Police say two men, Teodros Kebede Haile, 26, and Angel Hernandez, 34, stole a car that a customer left running at a car dealership on West 12th Street Thursday morning. Both men picked up a third man, Abdirisak Farah Ahmed, 38, a short distance away.
Police spotted the stolen car at 12th and Williams. Police caught and arrested Hernandez and Ahmed when they jumped out of the car. But the third man, Kebede, kept driving. Kebede took off on 15th Street leading police on a chase. He hit three parked cars near the intersection of 15th and Summit. Police say Kebede abandoned the car there, then stole a bike. Police eventually caught up with him. Kebede was charged with grand theft, three-counts of reckless driving, hit and run, DUI, petty theft and no driver's license.
Hernandez was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.
Ahmed was taken into custody on open warrants and was not charged in connection to the stolen car.
