Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week: Trevor Reinesch

Posted: Updated:

Tonight's Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week is Trevor Reinesch.

Trevor is a senior at Kimball High School and he has a fantastic 4.03 grade point average.

Trevor is ready to tackle the future, but recently has a change of heart that is pushing him in a different direction.

Trevor Reinesch has a wide variety of interests and his choice of classes points that out. "Started off with Economics, we have Government a full year of Government, Behavioral Science..." Trevor also takes Literature, English and is involved in Band.

Up until a few months ago, Trevor thought he knew what he wanted his future to be.  Then....he changed his mind. "I kinda started off the year thinking I wanted to be an engineer. Around Christmastime I started leaning towards being a veterinarian. Thought that Anatomy might be a better fit for me so I switched to Anatomy. That is where I spend most of my time studying."

Trevor is a thoughtful guy. He really wants to understand what he is learning about and History teacher Camden Miller says, Trevor's curiosity is a good thing for his classmates too. "Trevor...he stands out in a lot of ways. A couple that come to mind right away are his ability to think critically..he's the type of kid in class that always asks that leading question that sparks a dynamic class discussion."

Camden has started a lot of great class discussions and he anticipates Trevor will be part of other similar discussions in the fall. As for Trevor's next step? "I plan to attend South Dakota State University, be a Jackrabbit. I will pursue a major in Animal Science. Then I will get a minor in Equine Production and management. Hopefully that will get me the credentials I need to get accepted to a veterinary institute. There I will complete my studies after about 8 years."

And for being named out Scholar of the Week, Trevor will receive a $100 scholarship from Central Electric Cooperative, which is a local Touchstone Energy Cooperative.
