RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A bank, a barn, a church and a movie theater in South Dakota are being nominated for the National Register of Historic Places.

The Register is the federal government's list of properties it deems worthy of recognition and preservation.

The South Dakota State Historical Society Board has nominated the Inland Theater in Martin, the First United Church of Christ in Belle Fourche, a Campbell County barn and ranch yard built by the Wientjes family and the former Gregory National Bank building in Gregory. The bank now houses the Oscar Micheaux Center, home of an annual film festival celebrating the work of the filmmaker from Gregory County.

The four sites await official designation by the National Park Service.
