Brother of suspect in Sioux City officer shooting speaks out

Posted: Updated:

The search for a man wanted for shooting a Sioux City police officer has expanded to Denver.

Jamal Dean is accused of shooting Officer Kevin McCormick during a traffic stop Monday afternoon.

Friday, Jamal's brother, Levon, joined their father, pleading for him to turn himself in.

"Turn himself in or something. Because I don't want to see no, I don't want to see my brother get hurt. Drive me crazy," Levon Dean said.

Levon is in jail in relation to Monday's shooting. At times during the interview, Levon was visibly upset, even tearing up.

U.S. Marshals are involved in the search for Jamal. Deputies have been in South Sioux City, Omaha and now Denver searching for him. There's a $15,000 reward for information that leads to his arrest.
