Sculpture Walk celebrates 10 years in Sioux Falls

Posted: Updated:

It's a big milestone for Sioux Falls' Sculpture Walk.

The popular downtown exhibit is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Friday morning, artists and volunteers were busy installing a few of the pieces for the upcoming walk.

Lee Leuning and Sherri Treeby have been part of the downtown sculpture walk for 10 years. They say they look forward to it every year.

"We're in other sculpture walks in other cities but Sioux Falls is the best in the nation. We mean that, it's twice the number of sculptures and the caliber is worldwide, nationwide, top artists," said artist Lee Leuning.

"We've seen this thing grow leaps and bounds and just become a major player in sculpture in the United States," said artist Sherri Treeby.

Artists and volunteers will be back installing sculptures early Saturday morning.

The Sculpture Walk Expo runs this weekend at the Washington Pavilion. Organizers say this will be the single largest free indoor sculpture exhibit in the upper Midwest.
