At Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls the NSIC Outdoor Track and Field Championships were taking place this weekend.
Minnesota State finished the day atop the men's team leader board with 166 points and the University of Mary women scored 180 points for another outdoor track and field title.
Augustana's men's track and field team grabbed three event wins on day two of the NSIC Track and Field Championships to finish second while the women's squad earned two more titles and came in third place. The men tallied 135.5 total points and the women collected 104.
The No. 21 rated USF women's team finished in fourth place, earning 90 points. The men's team also finished in fourth place, scoring 111 points. USF ends the weekend with seven school records, four conference titles, and five conference runner-up honors.
The Northern State men finished 8th with 40 points, while the NSU women finished 9th with 33 points.
USF senior, Colin Koth, had a great day for the Cougars, placing in the 200m dash, 400m dash, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay. Koth was the top finisher in the conference in the 400m dash with his time of 48.81. He followed up that performance in the 200m dash where he was named conference runner-up with his school-record and NCAA provisional qualifying standard time of 21.22. Koth was also a member of the 4x400m relay, which placed fourth with their time of 3:21.37. Other Members of the relay included Brady Velgersdyk, Kaleb Stevens, and Blake Stevensen.
Augie's Runa Falch was one point away from being the women's high point scorer for the entire meet collecting a second win and a runner-up finish on the closing day of the meet. Falch won the women's 5,000-meter and was the second in the 1,500-meter run.
