Wienermobile stops in Sioux Falls for a good cause

Posted: Updated:

The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile made a pit stop in Sioux Falls, Sunday morning. All for a good cause.

The Asbury United Methodist Church held a free-will donation event to benefit one local organization: Lunch is Served. It works to deliver simple sack lunches for hard-working men and women putting in a full day's work of manual labor without a noon meal or much else to eat.

Asbury Pastor Kip Roozen thought it would be a great way to raise funds and awareness for Lunch is Served.

"The wienermobile seems weird at a church it has nothing to do with Jesus but I thought Jesus used all sorts of things to accomplish his ministry, so it's like, we're going to use a wienermobile to help feed the hungry and we're having a lot of fun doing it," Pastor Kip Roozen said.

The goal was to raise more than $1,000 and they have raised $2,000. More than 550 hotdogs were served.
