Washington Pavilion to install new sound system for hearing impaired

Posted: Updated:

On Saturday, June 1st, Sertoma clubs of Sioux Falls will host "Celebrate Sound – Don't Walk in Silence".

The walk will help raise awareness for the hearing impaired, as well as funds for the new sound system that will be installed in the Washington Pavilion.

The current sound system in the Great Hall has been met with some criticism. Pavilion staff has decided it was time to make sure their entire audience can hear what's happening on stage.

The Pavilion will be installing a 25-thousand dollar looping induction sound system, which will be installed in the Great Hall and will provide a better listening experience for those attending.

Washington Pavilion President, Larry Toll stated, "I think it's going to open a whole new audience to us. I think some people don't come because of the fact that they have trouble hearing and this is going to be a technology that we're going to advertise and put out there so people know that when they come here that they'll be able to have high quality sound".
