SDSU heads to Eugene Regional

The South Dakota State University baseball team will make its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament at the Division I level Friday, when it takes on host Oregon in the opening round of the Eugene Regional.

The Jackrabbits and Ducks will square off at 6 p.m. Pacific Time (8 p.m. Central). First-round games will be broadcast on ESPN3.com.

South Dakota State enters the NCAA Tournament with a 35-22 overall record after winning the Summit League Championship Sunday. Oregon is the No. 8 national seed and has a 45-14 overall record.

Rice (Texas), 41-17 overall, and San Francisco (Calif.), 34-22 overall, will meet in the other first-round game. The regional will follow a double-elimination format with games scheduled for May 31 through June 3.
