The 5th annual Harvest Golf Classic is a chance to play some golf for a fantastic cause. The event is being held at the Spring Creek Golf Course near Harrisburg. The event benefits Kidz-N-Coats, an organization aimed at making sure every child in the Sioux Falls area is warm this winter.
This event is put on every year to raise money in order to buy coats for kids in need. Organizers tell us hundreds of new coats have been given away to kids over the past 5 years of this fundraiser. About 250 coats were given away to kids who couldn't afford them after last year's event.
Organizers say sometimes we forget that there are kids in need right here in the Sioux Falls area. They say there really is a need right here in our community. All proceeds and sponsorship funds go to buying brand new coats for kids in the Sioux Falls area. Organizers say we all know how tough South Dakota winters can be. Cold weather can stick around for as much as 6 months of the year. That's why they say it's so important to make sure kids have a warm coat to face the snow, rain, and chilly weather.
If you want to participate, the fee is $75 per golfer. That entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch and awards. Registration starts at 7:00am on Saturday morning with a shotgun start is at 7:45am. This event is up to four players, for a four player scramble.
