Brother of Sioux Falls man allegedly killed in Bismarck speaks out
John Swain, 18
Bismarck police say they believe a young Sioux Falls man is the victim of a murder. One man has been charged in the case.
Bismarck police say John Swain, 18, has been missing since May 14. Authorities have not found his body but they've charged a man with murdering him. 25-year-old Theo Crowe, of Trenton, is in custody in Williams County on an unrelated matter.
Crowe's attorney in that case says he isn't representing him on the murder charge. Court documents don't list an attorney for Crowe in Burleigh County.
KSFY News spoke with Swain's brother 38-year-old Ben Swain. He told KSFY News John was supposed to graduate from Sioux Falls Christian in May, but when he turned 18 he decided to go to Bismarck and work. John's family adopted him from China when he was 3 years old. He was also the recipient of an organ transplant for which he was taking medications.
Ben Swain told KSFY News moving forward, the family hopes police can find John's body so they can bury him and give him the proper respects.
"For 20 years, I didn't have a brother, and now I don't have a brother again," Ben said.
Bismarck Police are urging people to be on the lookout for signs of fresh digging, where a body might have been buried.
