Sioux Falls man indicted for grand theft for not completing home improvement jobs

Posted: Updated:

A Sioux Falls man has been indicted for grand theft after complaints filed over his home improvement work not being completed.

On Thursday Attorney General Marty Jackley announced a Minnehaha County grand jury indicted Michael Monmaney, 27, on two counts of grand theft; each count it punishable by up to 10 years in prison or a $20,000 fine. Monmaney was also indicted on six counts of failure to inform buyers of right to cancel, three counts of petty theft in the first degree and once count of petty theft in the second degree.

The charges stem from complaints filed with the South Dakota Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. The complaints allege Monmaney did not complete home improvement work he promised to consumers.
