Former SDSU guard Nate Wolters speaks about NBA Draft

Posted: Updated:

It was a night of celebrating Thursday night, for a pair of local basketball standouts.

Yankton native Colton Iverson was picked by Indiana in the second round then traded to Boston.

The former South Dakota State University guard Nate Wolters was picked by Washington in the second round, then traded to Philadelphia and again to Milwaukee. On Friday in Milwaukee, Wolters was introduced by his new team. He worked out for the Bucks last week and they like his 6 feet 5 inches size for a point guard. Wolters said he was excited to prove himself as an NBA player, after a record-setting career at SDSU.

"At South Dakota State we ran the pick and roll almost every time. That will translate well to the NBA game. I just want to come in and make my teammates better, be a good passer and get my teammates open shots," Wolters said.

Wolters' fans may have a chance to see him play in Sioux Falls again. The Milwaukee Bucks take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 10 in Sioux Falls at the Sanford Pentagon.
