Motorcycle crash leaves one dead and another in critical condition

Posted: Updated:

One man is dead and another is in critical condition after an early morning motorcycle crash in Sioux Falls. The accident happened around 3:00 Tuesday morning near the intersection of 26th Street and Kiwanis Avenue in Sioux Falls. As of 4:30am that intersection is still closed.

We are still waiting on more information from the Sioux Falls Police Department but here's what we know so far. Police say the motorcycle was coming down 26th street, went through the intersection of Kiwanis, lost control, and collided with a fence.

We did speak with people who live right by this intersection. They told us they were woken up by some screeching noise and a collision. We can also tell you two ambulances were on the scene. Also two Sioux Falls Fire Rescue trucks and several Sioux Falls Police units were also on scene. We did see one person loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher and taken away. We can also tell you a group of younger people were on the scene and appeared to be very upset.

We are expecting more details to be released later this morning. We will bring those to you as soon as we have them.
