FALLS – The Sioux Falls Canaries fell behind early and struggled to
come up with clutch hits on Monday night in a 6-2 loss
against the Lincoln Saltdogs.
Before a sellout crowd of 4,670 fans – the largest of the season – the Canaries bats squandered several scoring opportunities
and left a season-high 16 men on base, leaving the bases loaded three times.

reached safely in a four-run rally. David Espinosa knocked
in a run with a base hit and Matt Forgatch followed with a three-run
home run for the quick 4-0 lead.

Canaries over the first five innings and earned the victory. He allowed
three hits and struck out one.

just three more hits and hold the Saltdogs scoreless
through his six innings of work. He suffered his second straight loss,
walking two and striking out four.
finale of the series will be at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, at Sioux
