Rescue crews pull man from river in downtown Sioux Falls

The Sioux Falls Police Department, the Sioux Falls Fire Rescue, and Rural Metro were dispatched to the west bank of the Big Sioux River in the 100 block of North Phillips Avenue for a water rescue Friday evening.

Initial reports were that a man was pushed from the ledge into the river. The victim was safely extracted from the rocks below the ledge, which is a 15-18 foot drop. He was then transported to Avera McKennan. At the hospital the victim regained consciousness. His injuries are described as non- life-threatening.
