Annette Bosworth announces Senate candidacy; Pledges to repeal Obamacare
Annette Bosworth, self-claimed daughter of the prairie, has officially announced she is seeking the Republican Party's nomination for U.S. Senate in 2014.
Bosworth had been exploring her decision to run for senate for about a month. She announced Friday she would seek one of South Dakota's senate seats and made the official announcement during a press conference Tuesday near her home-town of Plankinton.
During the press conference, Bosworth said you can't run from doing what's right even if the experts say the odds are against you. She said she has a palpable frustration with the way things are done in the country, which is causing the U.S. to lose its freedom, fiscal responsibility and morals.
"The voters don't want another go along person or career politician," Bosworth said.
She also expressed her concern for Obamacare, and as a physician she said it will be destructive to the nation. Bosworth said it kills research and quality care to patients.
Bosworth pledged to repeal and replace Obamacare with a patient first plan.
Bosworth operates the private practice Meaningful Medicine. It's a mobile-clinic practice that delivers primary care with an emphasis on prevention and accountability.
