UPDATE: Surveillance photos released of person who threw explosives at clerk

Sioux Falls Police are looking for the subject who threw a sparkler bomb at a gas station clerk Saturday evening.

The incident happened at approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday at a BP gas station along West Russell Blvd. The clerk said the suspect walked in, told her he had a bomb, lit the object and threw it at the her. The suspect never demanded any money.

The clerk was able to extinguish the bomb, suffering only a minor burn. A woman outside the station getting gas told police the suspect ran away to the north.

Police say the alleged bomb was made up of a large number of sparklers with a mortar type firework inside that never went off.

The suspect is described as 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. The suspect was wearing an older knitted dark green ski mask with yellow stitching around the eyes and mouth; coloring around eyes and mouth similar to eye black; dark colored sweat shirt; baggy blue jeans; heavy dark brown boots; and he was wearing gloves at the time.
