185 citations issued in Sioux Falls saturation patrol on Saturday
Law enforcement in the Sioux Falls area issued 185 citations in a saturation patrol Saturday in the day hours.
Sioux Falls Police, South Dakota Highway Patrol and the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office worked jointly to perform a citywide saturation patrol. 22 officers, deputies, troopers and supervisors worked from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the dayside patrol. The concentration was on speeding and seat belt violations, Lt. Jerome Miller said at Monday's daily police briefing.
There were 185 citations; two DWIs; and four narcotics arrests.
Miller noted that it was a great effort by everybody involved. He also reminds drivers that Monday morning was the start of School Zone Enforcement Week. Miller will return to Police Briefing next week to provide statistics on citations issued this week.
