Pavilion Spotlight: 50th annual Sidewalk Arts Festival

Posted: Updated:

In the beginning just 20 vendors took part.

"This started in 1964 in the Home Federal parking lot. So, it's expanded just a little bit," said Kaia Mogen, the Washington Pavilion's Special Projects Coordinator.

Now, more than 250 fine art, folk art, crafts, and food booths will greet you on the downtown streets surrounding the Washington Pavilion.

"We'll line the streets with vendors, tent to tent. And, they'll bring out their wares. They get here at two in the morning, so it's a long, fun day," said Mogen.

While the adults peruse the booths, kids can get their faces painted or jump on inflatables.

"From 9:00 a.m.  until 5:00 p.m. we'll have entertainment right behind me here in the amphitheater. Lots of great, local talent coming," said Mogen.

And, if you have a question the Washington Pavilion will have an information booth to point you in the right direction.

"Stop by the info booth and get a 50/50 raffle ticket and lots of special deals that are good for that day only."
