"I'm excited that Buddy is coming! Mega excitement here!"
Susan Thompson's enthusiasm for cakes is infectious. That's likely one of the reasons why the owner of QT Cakes in downtown Sioux Falls can relate to New Jersey's Buddy Valastro.
"I love Buddy because you can learn from him by watching his show. Some of the other shows the camera is in the person's face just talking, but Buddy shows you technique," said Thompson.
She says cake making has become quite the art form as people's requests are changing.
"People want more elaborate and fancier cakes and bigger cakes. Even graduation cakes are tiered and topsy-turvy," said Thompson.
Despite that, she claims everyone should try cake decorating.
"Oh you won't mess it up. Frosting is forgiving."
The Cake Boss won't grace the Pavilion's stage until November 22. Until then, Thompson will keep serving her customers and anxiously awaiting Buddy's big arrival.
