Sioux Falls, S.D. - The Northern State University Women's Soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2013 season to Augustana College with a score of 3-1. The Wolves dropped to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the NSIC, while the Vikings climb to 5-1 on the year and 3-0 in the conference.

Through the first half of play Northern was only able to record one shot by Sophomore Andrea Boisner. Northern goalkeeper Brittany Tietz fought off the Augie attack of six shots on goal, a .667 shooting percentage, with three saves.

The two teams entered the second half with the Vikings up 2-0. Augie scored again only minutes into the period putting themselves up by three. NSU increased their offensive attack with five shots in the half, four of which were on goal. At 63 minutes Bobyye Pendleton stepped up for the Wolves with a penalty kick. Although Pendleton missed the attempt she was able to connect for her second goal of the season off a deflection by the Viking keeper.

Northern will return home September 28th and 29th to take on Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State Mankato. Game times are set for 1 p.m. with the Golden Bears and Mavericks from Jerde Field in Aberdeen.
