One of the most recognizable guitarists in the world spent his afternoon with some future musical superstars, right here in Sioux Falls.
Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash was a guest at the first student concert at the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy. Not only did Slash check out the kids' performance, he even joined in. Together, they performed the Gun N' Roses version of "Knocking on Heaven's Door."
Slash's visit all started after a conversation with Chuck Brennan, the Rock & Roll Academy founder, at Slashat Rockfest in Wisconsin. Brennan said Slash was so impressed with what was happening, he wanted to get involved. He not only agreed to visit, he offered to play with the student musicians.
The Brennan Rock & Roll Academy is the first music program in support of the Boys and Girls Club. Brennan made a 20-year commitment to the program and facility.
