Child found, mother still missing from Sioux Falls treatment center
Authorities have located the 3-year old son of a juvenile who ran away from a residential treatment program in Sioux Falls earlier this week, but are asking for the public's help in locating the boy's mother.
The boy was initially dropped off at a friend's home Wednesday and has since been safely reunited with family members. He was with his mother Kimberly Guerra when she left the program thatserves pregnant women and mothers with small children at approximately 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Kimberly is a 17-year old Hispanic female. She is 5-feet-2 inches tall and weighs approximately 135 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.
The Department of Corrections has released the name of the juvenile based on the department's responsibility as guardian and the department's belief that releasing the juvenile's name is necessary to protect her from harm.
