Police are investigating another stabbing in Sioux Falls.

At 2:48 a.m. officers found a man, 29, with several lacerations to his left hand at 1028 N. Dakota Ave.

The victim told police that his assailant fled on foot. After speaking with witnesses, police believe the suspect is a black male, 6-feet tall, with his hair in corn rows. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark blue shirt or sweatshirt, police said.

Police say the suspect and the victim were arguing about a female they both know and the victim was stabbed in the altercation. The suspect and victim were at a mutual friend's apartment when the incident took place, and the woman they were fighting over was present, according to Officer Sam Clemens.

The victim was treated at the scene by Rural Metro Ambulance and then transported to Avera McKennan Hospital.
