Tornado touches down in Plymouth County, Iowa

The Plymouth County, Iowa Sheriff's Office reports a tornado touchdown Friday night in the rural southwest part of the county.  It happened at 6:48pm.

As of 10:15 Friday night, the Sheriff has received reports of damage to 10 structures. No injury reports have been called in.

All the county fire and police departments along with Plymouth County Disaster Services and Iowa State Patrol assisted Plymouth County Sheriffs Deputies in spotting the storm.

Plymouth County Emergency Management Coordinator Gary Junge is out Friday night and will be out the next couple days to assess the damage. 

The Siouxland Red Cross is assisting Plymouth Disaster Services in helping the citizens tonight. Any other questions can be answered by Mr. Junge at 712-546-8101.
