A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Webster Monday, according to the Department of Public Safety.
Charlene Johnson, 46, was driving south on her driveway at 7:50 a.m. in a 2005 Buick Terraza. Traveling westbound on US Highway 12 was a 2000 Ford F-250 truck, driven by Jesse Zeitz, 26, of Renville, Minn.
Johnson entered the highway and was struck on the driver's side by the truck. Both vehicles entered the median of the roadway, crashed and then came to a rest.
Johnson was wearing a seatbelt, but sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
Zeitz and his passenger Matthew Rosemeier, 25, of Murdock, Minn., were wearing seatbelts and were not injured in the crash.
Department of Public Safety representatives said no more information was immediately available.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Day County Sheriff's Office, Webster Fire Department, Bristol Fire Department, Day County Emergency Management and Care Flight assisted.
