PIERRE -- A Wakpala man accused in a September 2008 beating death has pleaded not guilty in federal court to second-degree murder and assault.

Twenty-five-year-old Stoney End of Horn is accused of beating Pauline Brave Crow in rural Wakpala, causing a head injury that killed her. Court documents do not indicate the relationship between the two.
