Sioux Falls man arrested for DWI, resisting arrest, abusing dog

A man faces several charges after an altercation with police responding to reports of a barking dog.

At 11:50 p.m. Monday, Sioux Falls police were dispatched to W. 3rd St. and Valley View Road for a barking dog.

Officer spotted a man kick a small dog and then get into his Suburban. The officer also saw the man throw the dog against the passenger side door of the vehicle.

Howard Wright, 41, of Sioux Falls, got into a physical altercation with the officer who stopped him.

Wright was arrested for DWI, open container, inhumane treatment of an animal, obstruction of a police officer, driving with a suspended license and resisting arrest.
