The Sertoma Butterfly House and Marine Cove will be hostingan Intergalactic fundraiser for the whole family this Saturday.
Darth Vader, Storm Troopers and other members of the 501stLegion will be roaming the Butterfly House and Marine Cove, interacting withfamilies and posing for pictures.
The 501st is an international organization thatappears in movie-quality Star Wars costumes, often helping with fundraisers allover the world.
"This is our second year doing the intergalactic fundraiser,we started it last year…we wanted to do a fundraiser with the kids as well, sowe like to think outside the box and we thought—Hey, lets bring in the StarWars guys. Everybody loves Star Wars, its fun for all ages, especially thekids, so we thought why not have a little fun and raise some money for the ButterflyHouse," said Audrey Willard, the Director of the Sertoma Butterfly House andMarine Cove.
The Star Wars characters will be at the Butterfly House from5:30-7:30 p.m. this Saturday. Everyone is encouraged to come in costumes;whether its as a star wars character, princess or a super hero, where your HalloweenCostume and enjoy all of the great activities.
There will be a Star Wars scavenger hunt throughout theButterfly House, Star Wars crafts and snacks including light-saber pretzels andYoda Soda.
All of the proceeds from admission will help fund the newtouch aquarium currently under construction in the Marine Cove.
