We know the Dakotas are among the best to live in and MoneyRates.com agrees.
It has released what it considers to be the 10 best states for young adults in 2013.
South Dakota ranks #1, North Dakota ranks #1 as it looks at unemployment, the cost of housing, college and even nightlife.
"Going to school for four-and-a-half years, growing up here, I knew it had good programs, a good school. Not surprised by that," Augustana College grad Dillon DeBour said.
Dillon DeBour graduated from Augustana in 2012. After landing his first job in Joplin, Missouri, he's glad to be back.
"I was anxious to get out of Sioux Falls once I graduated and wanted to get out on my own. I always knew I'd end up back here to raise a family and settle my long-term career here. It's different from other communities," DeBour said.
Nobody knows opportunity and young people like the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce's Young Professional's Network, or YPN.
"It reinforces what we do here with YPN. S series of goals in mind, not only getting young professionals to connect with each other but to better understand the community as a whole and know the opportunities. With that in mind, it feeds right into this, we have a very contributing group of young professionals in Sioux Falls and they're drawn here for the right reasons," Vice Chair, YPN, Daniel Doyle said.
South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard agrees.
"I'm very pleased that we ranked well with respect to the economic factors, and the fact that we have a very good quality of life, clean air, clean waster and a good natural environment. Those are things we want to promote and they appeal to all ages," Governor Dennis Daugaard said.
