Tonight's "Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week" is Allison Deal from Sunshine Bible Academy in Miller, South Dakota.
Allison has a 3.8 grade point average..and between her school work and activities. You wonder how she has time for anything else!
Allison deal loves music. She spends a lot of time in the choir room and with her friends in band and she is also enthusiastic about her work in the classroom. "I'm taking Bible 4 which is a Theology class. English 4. Government. Pre-Calculus...which is a college credit for next year."
Allison spends a lot of time in class as a student. She is also planning on spending a lot of time in the classroom in the future....as a teacher. She loves Math and she wants to help people understand it. "I'm really looking to go into secondary Math education, I think."
But Allison says she may also consider elementary Math education as well. Whatever she chooses, one of her teachers...April Teel....says there is no doubt that she will succeed. "She excels in every subject that I've ever had her in. She is very studious and responsible. She gets her homework done on time. She's always very inquisitive."
As for where the future will take her next fall, she is thinking about Black Hills State University...but doesn't know for sure. "I'm not sure what college I'm going to. I am still trying to decide."
And for being named our Scholar of the Week, Allison will receive a $100 scholarship from the Dakota Energy Cooperative...which is a local Touchstone Energy cooperative.
