(Sioux Falls)- NBA legend Pat Riley was the speaker at tonight's annual Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce meeting at the Convention Center.
Riley has won nine NBA Championships as a player, coach and executive. The current Miami Heat president got his latest two rings the past two seasons.
He has a connection to Sioux Falls now after the Heat became the one-on-one hybrid affiliate of the Skyforce this past summer.
Riley says this partnership with a strong D-League franchise is more important than ever right now for the Heat.
"Right now we are a championship team with veteran players. But what you will see over the next four or five years with the collective bargaining agreement and how things are structured it impacts what you can do financially when you build your team. So it's important to develop players right now." says Riley.
Riley also got a tour of the Skyforce's new home at the Sanford Pentagon today.
