By now you've likely heard some Christmas music, letting you know that the start of the holiday shopping season is nearing.
The Empire Mall is always a hot holiday spot and right now it's undergoing a major renovation.
KSFY News visited the states most popular tourist attraction to see how things are coming along.
The mall announced the renovation a little more than a year ago.
They started construction in February.
And now, it's nearly complete.
There's still some work to be done but they say, they will be ready.
Inside the Empire Mall, crews are hard at work getting new stores ready to open for business.
Most of the mall renovations will be complete and ready by black Friday. But there are still some finishing touches going on at the mall both inside and out. The goal is to show off what's new at the mall -- for everyone who comes out to shop on the big day.
Empire Mall marketing director Jennifer Morrison said "we added a lot of amenities that shoppers can use while they're out here shopping, for example we'll have charging stations, at each one of our seating areas and so they can sit down relax and recharge, and keep shopping. so that will be fun and exciting, but a new look and feel."
"One of the biggest things and it sounds small but it's actually really neat is all of the automatic doors we've added to our entrances. I've had a lot of comments from a lot of customers saying it's so easy when you have strollers or wheelchairs, that that's a really great feature," Morrison said.
It really does look like a brand new mall inside.
There's new tiled floors and carpet.
And lot's of light.
The mall looks a lot brighter than it used to, and they say they have big plans to greet shoppers on the day many shoppers and bargain hunters look forward to, Black Friday.
