Sioux Falls, S.D. (Oct. 25, 2013) – The Sioux Falls Skyforce will host its 2013 NBA Development League Draft party at the Sanford Pentagon (2210 W. Pentagon Pl.) on Friday, Nov. 1 beginning at 5:45 p.m. The Skyforce will select six players including the seventh overall pick.
Skyforce coaches, front office staff, Force Dancers and Thunder will be in attendance and several great prizes will be given away throughout the evening.
The first eight picks in the 2013 NBA D-League Draft were awarded to teams who did not qualify for the 2013 NBA D-League playoffs, in reverse order of their regular season records. The Delaware 87ers, making their NBA D-League debut for the 2013-14 season, will select ninth. The subsequent eight picks in the Draft will go to those teams who did qualify for the 2013 NBA D-League playoffs, also in reverse order of regular season record. This format will stand for all eight rounds, except in instances where teams previously acquired or traded picks.
No trades will be permitted during the draft and only players signed to an NBA Development League Standard Player Contract are eligible to be selected. The first six rounds of the Draft are mandatory, while teams may opt not to select players in the seventh and eighth rounds. All selected players are required to report to their NBA D-League team's training camp, which begin no earlier than November 7.
In addition to the seventh overall pick, Sioux Falls will have the seventh pick in the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth rounds. Sioux Falls traded its second- and third-round draft picks to Erie and Austin, respectively, last season.
Season tickets and 12-ticket flex packs for the 2013-14 season are on sale. Discounts and benefits are available for groups of 10 or more. Single game tickets will go on sale Monday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. The home opener is set for Friday, Nov. 22 against the Reno Bighorns. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CT at the Sanford Pentagon.
