Dress for Success, an international non profit organization designed to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women, is opening an affiliate in Sioux Falls.
Dress for Success Sioux Falls will work with other non-profit organizations through a referral process to provide economically disadvantaged women with professional suiting. In addition, Dress for success provides interview preparations for women as they are being suited for their interview.
The organization provides on-going professional development support to their clients to assist them in retaining their acquired job and in on-going career development. One of the goals of the organization is to help women go from having a job to developing a career that results in self-defined financial and professional success.
It relies on volunteers to assist in suiting its clients and calls them "personal shoppers." In addition to the interview attire, Dress for success Sioux Falls' clients will benefit from a week's worth of professional clothing once they have attained a job. They also will have access to resources for ongoing career development through networking exercises, career development workshops and personal development seminars.
Valerie Loudenback, the founding partner and Executive Director for Sioux Falls Dress for Success saw a local need in Sioux Falls to assist disadvantaged women who were looking for jobs.
"We assist our clients in looking their best for their interview and being prepared both on the outside and inside. Ultimately, once our clients attain a job, Dress for Success SiouxFalls provides recourses for them to not only retain a job, but help them thrive in life and work," said Loudenback.
