Stores pushing 'Black Friday' deals back to Thanksgiving morning

Posted: Updated:

Shoppers can get a jump start on Black Friday this year, with several stores opening Thursday morning -- before most people have even started cooking Thanksgiving dinner.

Kmart will open at 6 a.m. Thanksgiving morning and stay open for 41 hours straight until 11 p.m. Black Friday.

Shopko will open at 6 a.m. as well, but stores will close at 1 p.m. before reopening at 8 p.m. Thursday for official "Black Friday" sales, the store announced today.

Macy's and JC Penny will open Thursday morning, which may prompt other mall stores to open up early on the holiday.

Shoppers have to wait until after supper for Walmart, Target and Toys r Us sales, but few retailers will make anyone wait until Friday to get their Black Friday sales.
