Veterans' Day Ceremonies happening across South Dakota

Posted: Updated:

To Honor all of our servicemen and women this Veterans' Day, there are many ceremonies and events happening all over the state.

From extra discounts at stores and restaurants to city-wide ceremonies, all of these Veteran's Day activities are a way to say thank you and recognize the men and women who have served our country through the years.

"Veterans Day is a way to celebrate service to our country—Veterans that came before me such as Claude in World War II and a lot of these Marines from Korea and Vietnam," said Vincent Brown, a Navy Veteran who served in Desert Storm and Enduring Freedom.

"It's a time to remember our comrades that have died before," said World War II Veteran Jim Martin.

"It's a time that we celebrate their duty to country and to family and to their core. It's a time that we celebrate the sacrificing of themselves to our nation," said Dave Nordlund of the United States Marine Corps.
