SIOUX FALLS, S.D.  (November 15, 2013) – The University of Sioux Falls head women's basketball coach Travis Traphagen and his staff have announced the signing of three athletes for the Class of 2014.

Mackenzie Dahl, a 6-0 forward, earned All-Conference honorable mention for her performance during her junior season where she averaged 6.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. She also shot 42.8% percent from three-point land and 79.2% from the stripe.

"She is someone who can fill it up from deep range and provides strength to defend a 4-type," added Traphagen. "We lose two forwards in this year's senior class, so she will have the chance to see action very early in her career."

Macy Lynch , a 5-10 wing, joins USF after prepping at Bismarck Century High School where her team has won the past two North Dakota Class A State Championship titles. During her junior season, Lynch averaged 10.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 0.9 blocks per game for the Patriots. She also shot 41.5% on field goals , including 34.6% from behind the arc.

"We are excited about Macy and she will be able to contribute to our program early in her career,"said coach Traphagen. "She helped her team win the state title a year ago, and to say she is a winner is an understatement."

Lynch's performance during her junior season did not go unnoticed as she earned All-Western Dakota Conference honors during her junior season and was also named to the KFYR TV Sports Honor Roll.

Morgan Merritt, a 5-6 point guard, earned All-Conference honors as well as All-Area Honorable mention during the 2012-13 season where she averaged  12.5 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists per game. She also holds a single game career-high of 25 points.

"Morgan is a true point guard that is a playmaker," said coach Traphagen. "She is a pass first point guard that really makes everyone around her better."

Merritt was honored for her performance during the 2013-14 season when she was named her team's MVP.

Dahl, Lynch, and Merritt all signed with the Cougars during the Early Signing Period which runs from November 13 through November 19.
