Operation Christmas Child

Posted: Updated:

This morning, Wendy Pierson and Lynelle Chapman from Abiding Savior Free Lutheran Church stopped by to talk about Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child sends shoe boxes full of gifts to children around the world.

To donate, all you have to do is take a shoe box (or small plastic container) and fill it with gifts! You just need to put down whether your shoe box is for a boy or a girl and what age category (2-4, 5-9, 10-14). Gift ideas include toys, school supplies, personal hygiene products, and clothing. Please do not include damaged items, war-related items (toy guns, knives), liquids, or out-dated food.

Once you've filled your shoe box with gifts, you just need to donate $7 to ship it. Place a rubber band around your filled shoe box and drop it off at your collection center during the collection week. The collection week is Monday, November 18 through Monday, November 25.

In Sioux Falls, you can drop off you shoe boxes at Abiding Savior Free Lutheran Church between 9am and 7pm.
