Posted: Updated:

A man died Sunday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash near Huron Nov. 12, Department of Public Safety spokesman Terry Woster said.

Bo Mutchelknaus, 20, was driving a 1994 Chevrolet S10 pickup north on 399th Avenue, a gravel road. He failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a 1996 GMC Safari driven west on 214th Street by Efrain Alveno-Lopez, 64, Alpena. The Chevrolet rolled on the driver's side and slid into the north ditch. The GMC came to rest in a driveway on the north side of the road.

Mutchelknaus was not wearing a seatbelt and died on scene. Alveno-Lopez was wearing a seatbelt. He received serious injuries.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Beadle County Sheriff's Office, Huron Fire Department, Huron Ambulance Service and South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks assisted.
