BROOKINGS, S.D. – Senior Steph Paluch (Pierre) was name The Summit League Player of the Week Monday, after helping South Dakota State to a 2-1 record this past week.
For the week, the guard averaged 16 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. She shot 66.7 percent from the field, 70 percent from three-point range and 71.4 percent from the free-throw line.
In a 68-63 loss at Creighton Nov. 12, Paluch led the team in scoring with a season-best 17 points. She was 8 of 9 from the field, including a perfect 5 for 5 in the first half.
Paluch scored 15 second-half points in the 86-80 win over Georgetown Nov. 15, and in the victory over Northern Iowa Nov. 17, she led the Jackrabbits with 16 points, including a career-tying four three-pointers.
For the season, Paluch leads South Dakota State in scoring (13.8) and is second in assists (2.8). She is shooting 57.1 percent from the field, 53.8 percent from three-point range and 80 percent from the foul line.
Riding a two-game winning streak and a five-game home winning streak, the Jackrabbits conclude a three-game homestand when they host Pepperdine Thursday at 7 p.m. in Frost Arena.
