Artist's prints are ready to aid West River ranchers

Posted: Updated:

After a devastating early October blizzard, West River ranchers are still trying to figure out the financial loss of their herds.

Artist Ray Kelly felt compelled to create a drawing to help raise money for the South Dakota Cattlemen's Association. KSFY did a story with Kelly a little over a week ago, and since then 53 of his prints have sold. He's hoping to sell 300.

"Believe it or not this is going to raise about $14,000 or $15,000. That's only 14 or 15 head of cows, because cattle are expensive. The loss was great," said Kelly.

Kelly will also be selling the prints at the Yankton, Huron, and Platte livestock sale barns. Or, you can contact him directly at raykellyart.com.
