When winter weather strikes driving can be downright dangerous.
But there are a few things you can do to be better prepared for a wintry wallop.
This is a good time to prepare you winter survival kit if you are planning any travel over the next several days. If your car were to stall or become stuck in snow, a winter survival kit could save your life.
Here's what should be included in the kit:
-Non-perishable food, such as peanuts or granola bars
-Extra clothing, blankets, or sleeping bags for everyone in the vehicle.
-Flashlight with extra batteries
-Tire Chains or something to provide extra traction
-Hand & Foot warmers
-Cell Phone with a fully charged battery
And try to use common sense on any icy roads. Leave more travel time, breaking distance, and let someone know your whereabouts. Remember, you can find out about the latest watches and warnings using the KSFY weather mobile app.
