Voters approve bond for new middle school in Brandon

A new middle school is on the way for the Brandon Valley School District.

Voters in Brandonapproved a $5.96 million bond for a new middle school on Tuesday.

The vote passed with 1,261 in favor and 384 against, makingit approved by 76.7%.

"This is a wonderful result," Brandon Valley School DistrictSuperintendent David Pappone said. "It represents the commitment the communityhas to Brandon Valley Schooland their kids."

Pappone had previously said the existing middle school wouldsoon be at capacity due to recent growth in the school district.  

The new middle school will be built near the Robert Bennis Elementary school.
