Four arrested in North Alaska Ave. fatal shooting

Posted: Updated:

Tuesday morning began with confusion after Monday night's shooting where 20-year-old Jordan LeBeau was killed and his father received a gunshot wound.

Police said they believed one suspect was in a house near St. Mary's Elementary.

Causing the school to go on lock down.

Sheriff Mike Milstead said, "Because it was directly across the street where we believed the suspect was at, we moved all the students from the north end of the school to another part of the school."

That suspect, 20-year-old Douglas Peter Scholten, was arrested at a nearby hog farm.

Another suspect, 20-year-old Kevin James Rice, was arrested at Auto Trend in Dell Rapids.

Scholten and Rice are from Dell Rapids.

They were both charged with first degree robbery, first degree burglary and aggravated assault.

"It's still a fluid investigation. It's still a lot of information we're processing and working on." Officer Sam Clemens said.

Then later Tuesday night, two suspects, 18-year-old Brian David Anderson and 17-year-old Trevor James Kruthoff were arrested in Watertown at separate locations without incident.

Both were charged with murder and both are from Watertown.

Police say they are sure this was not random and the public is not in any danger.

Clemens added, "Jordan knew the suspects. That's what everything seems to be pointing to. I don't know if dad knew who these people were or not, but Jordan knew them. I'm not sure of the exact relationship status, but they knew each other."

At this time, we do not know the condition of LeBeau's father, but Officer Sam Clemens believes he is stable.
