Snow Alert Issued for Sioux Falls

Posted: Updated:

The City of Sioux Falls is now under a Snow Alert. The plowing of Emergency Snow Routes has already begun and is expected to continue until all routes are clear. Vehicles that are parked on an Emergency Snow Route will be subject to immediate ticketing and towing.

The plowing of Zone 3 will begin Wednesday morning after all Emergency Routes have been cleared. Zone 2 will also begin being plowed on Wednesday. The east/west streets in Zone 2 will begin at 8 pm, while the north/south streets will be plowed starting at 8 am on Thursday, December 5. Parking is also prohibited downtown between 1 am and 6 am during a Snow Alert. Property owners also need to make sure all sidewalks are kept clean of ice and snow within 48 hours after the ice and snow has stopped.

To find out what zone you are in, where the zone boundaries are located, or to sign up for text or email alerts from the City of Sioux Falls, go to www.siouxfalls.org/snow. Snow Alerts and updates will also be posted via Facebook and Twitter.
