KOTA -- A visiting professor at Black Hills State University is in jail on 10 counts of possession of child pornography.

Police arrested 33-year-old Tanyamat Srungboonmee at his Spearfish home Wednesday.

According to court documents, the illegal video files were detected by an investigator during an undercover operation. The officer used a file sharing program to detect a computer with South Dakota IP address that was "sharing" suspected files. One of those files, according to the officer, appeared to show a girl between 8 to 12 years old involved in a sex act with an adult man.

When police went to Srungboonmee's home with a search warrant they found 10 child porn videos on a thumb drive. The videos depict various sex acts with children and adults. The children are between 6 and 11 years old. Police say Srungboonmee admitted that he downloaded the files onto the drive.

Srungboonmee is a visiting instructor of economics at the BHSU School of Business. He previously taught at Marquette University in Wisconsin
