Tonight's "Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week" is Nichole Dvorak from Andes Central High School. Nichole currently has a 3.8 grade point average.
Nichole has a full schedule of classes and she tells us they are doing a great job of preparing her for her next step in life.
Nichole Dvorak's list of classes catches your attention because there are a lot of them and they're not particularly easy ones either. "Personal Finance and I will be taking Government, and I am taking online classes....right now I am taking Human Development and Medical Terminology." She is also taking Health Careers, Math, English and Physics.....but it is that Human Development class she mentioned that she has a real investment in. "I want to be a registered nurse. And I am really liking Human Development because it is more talking about the infants and I really want to work with them. So I am really liking that class so far." Nichole has a real talent and gift for classes that involve Biology and other sciences.
Teacher Kristen Maynard has had Nichole for a number of those classes. "Nichole is a very motivated student. Very intelligent and always looking to learn more and to be involved in the classroom."
Nichole is finishing up senior year and is working to finalize her college plans. It's no surprise, she has an idea for that part of her life as well. "I hope to go to Dakota Wesleyan for registered nurse for a four year program. I really want to specialize in being a neo-natal nurse."
For being named our Scholar of the Week, Nichole will receive a $100 scholarship from Charles Mix Electric Association, which is a local Touchstone Energy cooperative.
